EN 54-2 & EN 54-4 compliant
The Protec Algo-Tec™ 6500 is an advanced and cost-effective interactive digital addressable fire detection and alarm system, ideal for small, medium and large facilities. Designed and manufactured by Protec, the control panel is fully compliant with EN54-2 and EN54-4 standards. It is available in surface-mounted or flush-mounted versions, featuring aesthetically designed grey polycarbonate doors.
The 6500 system is fully modular, allowing tailored solutions ranging from standalone panels to large multi-panel networks. The modular construction, combined with advanced cause-and-effect programming, enables configuration according to the specific requirements of any commercial or industrial application.
Secure network
An innovative redundant peer-to-peer network provides fast data transmission, high fault tolerance and secure communication between up to 64 Algo-Tec™ 6500 panels, operating together as a single distributed fire detection system in accordance with BS5839-1. No single network fault can disable the system, and in the event of multiple faults, each panel continues to operate independently. The network can be implemented using copper or fibre-optic technology.
Detection loops
Each 6500 panel can be equipped with 1, 2 or 4 high-capacity Algo-Tec™ 6000PLUS digital addressable loops, supporting up to 200 addresses per loop, 800 devices per panel and up to 51,200 addressable devices across the entire network, in accordance with EN54, section 13.7.
Interactive intelligence
The Algo-Tec™ 6000PLUS protocol continuously analyses data from each sensor and learns from accumulated information. The system can recognise if a sensor is dirty or contaminated and automatically adjust the alarm threshold (Threshold Compensation). Advanced functions enable the differentiation of fire conditions, filtering of disturbances such as steam from hotel bathrooms, and increased sensor sensitivity during rapid temperature rises.
The result of this interactive analysis is high resistance to false alarms and improved accuracy of real-time fire detection.
